Teesside is a very heavily populated area which already lives with several environmental “threats” on our doorstep. There are many tips and landfill facilities in this region and we cannot just be seen as a dumping ground for the UK’s waste. Surely radioactive waste would be much more safely managed in a rural area, away from dense population. A similar application was made and rejected some years ago - why should it be any more acceptable today !?
