The Forestry Commission, NPS/WR/028109 and NPS/WR/029376: Hydro Electric Power Production Consultation

Overview

We are seeking your comments on two applications received from The Forestry Commission. 

The first application is for a full licence to abstract (take) water from the Comb Beck in the Whinlatter Forest Park near Keswick at National Grid Reference NY 21352 24620.

The second application is for a licence to obstruct or impede the flow of water at the abstraction point at National Grid Reference NY 21352 24620. By installing an intake weir across the width of the channel, water will be impounded to facilitate abstraction into a penstock pipe.
