We are seeking your comments on the proposed decision on an application to vary of an environmental permit for Cuadrilla Bowland Limited for:

Preston New Road Exploration Site
Preston New Road
Little Plumpton

This variation is to make changes to the permit issued in January 2015 whilst maintaining protection of the environment.  It is not a wholesale review of the environment permit for Preston New Road. The existing permit will not be revoked. Cuadrilla has sought to clarify as details of their activities as they have developed their proposals since the original permit was issued.  Where we consider these changes acceptable we have included them in the draft permit variation.  The Environment Agency has also taken the opportunity to include improvements to the control we have over activities at the site.  Details of these changes are outlined in the introductory note to the draft permit variation.
