Please provide your comments on the environmental permit application received from East Kent Recycling Limited (Required)
As a resident Faversham who likes walking along the footpaths of the SSSI protected area of the Oare Creek and Marshes, I would like to object to the application from East kent Recycling on several counts: Noise : This can be heard across the creek on a daily basis and it is easy to imagine how this affects local residents, all the more so if a concrete crushing machine is allowed on the site in future and the operation times are extended, as proposed. Dust: This can particularly be observed during hot dry spells, and affects the coastal which is often covered in grey dust over the Summer months. Lorries: It is often difficult to be on the narrow road while lorries are going to and from the site, so pedestrians and cyclists are forces to get on the verge close to the Creek, not much of a problem in Summer ,especially if the driver is courteous and slows down, which, to be fair many do. In rainy Winter periods, there is a risk of slipping and falling into the Creek. Flood : Oare Creek is tidal and liable to flooding the coastal footpath and the plant is close to the sea wall There is a very big risk of contaminants from EKR's site entering the creek during flooding.
