Please provide your comments on the environmental permit application received from Mizkan Euro Limited (Required)
Anglian Water welcome the opportunity to comment upon the application. I can confirm that the site has a trade effluent consent referenced ADZ 524 effective from 1st of April 2016; the original consent was issued 12th January 1979 and several variations had been issued over the years to reflect current reality on site. The nature and composition of the consent is ‘Pre-treated water used in the production of sauces and pickles’. Mizkan Euro Limited has been mostly compliant with the conditions of the trade effluent consent, with one significant solid failure from samples taken in the last one year. Anglian water monitors Mizkan discharge and will always work with the company to ensure compliance. There are no concerns from the Anglian water source protection point of view. The EA’s SPZ at the site relates to the company’s own licensed boreholes and not any of ours. The nearest Anglian water source is several km to the south in the middle of bury on Kings Road. Anglian Water has no objection to this EPR application and would like the Agency to avoid stating specific limits in Mizkan’s consent in this EPR permit as they can be varied any time in line with trade effluent regulation requirement. The Applicant must be reminded that should they undertake changes on the site which have might have impact on the trade effluent, they must gain permission from Anglian Water by way of a change Direction prior to implementing the change.
