I have fished the river tees for 37 years and the past 20+ of them years I have been a salmon angler , the tees used to be about the best salmon river in England ( that is until they built the tees barrage ) . The salmon now only run in the 100s due to this failure of modern day engineering . People keep spending money on stupid and useless fish passes for the barrage , none of which are working as the fish run data shows . There is 2 easy solutions to this . 1- open the gates when needed , 2- take the barrage down . The environment agency has only 1 thing in mind when it comes to salmon in the north east of England and that is THE RIVER TYNE ....... 40-50 miles from me and lots of other salmon anglers and also most people don't have £700-1000 a year to join there extortionate fishing clubs . I fully intend not to buy another rod licence u til this barrage is fully working 110% , ( which won't be in my lifetime I'm sure )..... Me and lots of other salmon anglers around this area feel and have been let down by the environment agency .

Q7 (This is for all consultees). Please tell us if you have any further comments that you would like to provide on this consultation.

Please provide your further comments here.
The environment agency is only interested in the river Tyne in this area when it comes to salmon stocks , therefore my filling this questionare in will of been a total waste of my time and effort .
